Damage

Water damage to your home is never fun to deal with and it usually a new experience to everyone. If pipe bursts in your home, immediately do the following:

  1. Shut off the main water supply.
  2. Shut off the electrical panel, only if it is safe to do so.
  3. If you can’t turn off the power, don’t use anything that requires electricity on, near, or around wet surfaces, including using electrical outlets in wet or damp walls.
  4. Call your insurance and have an adjuster come estimate the damage.
  5. Call a plumber, if necessary.
  6. Call a reliable contractor with restoration services. The contractor will be able to help you through the rest of the process, including dry-out and pack-out services needed.

Always practice safety first and be familiar with the coverage of your home insurance policy and your HOA policies if applicable.
