25 Jun Damage
Water damage to your home is never fun to deal with and it usually a new experience to everyone. If pipe bursts in your home, immediately do the following:
- Shut off the main water supply.
- Shut off the electrical panel, only if it is safe to do so.
- If you can’t turn off the power, don’t use anything that requires electricity on, near, or around wet surfaces, including using electrical outlets in wet or damp walls.
- Call your insurance and have an adjuster come estimate the damage.
- Call a plumber, if necessary.
- Call a reliable contractor with restoration services. The contractor will be able to help you through the rest of the process, including dry-out and pack-out services needed.
Always practice safety first and be familiar with the coverage of your home insurance policy and your HOA policies if applicable.
